MAA Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Temporary Order Picker on behalf of our client, a specialist engineering manufacturer and market leader within their field.
Our client is looking for an accurate, organised and reliable individual to join their busy Parts team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately picking, checking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch, while also supporting stock management and ensuring relevant system transactions are completed correctly.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous experience in order picking, warehouse, stores, parts or a similar environment, who has good attention to detail and takes pride in ensuring orders are prepared accurately and efficiently.
Role:
·Accurately picking parts against customer orders
·Locating parts and stock using the company’s computer/ERP system
·Checking picked orders to ensure all parts and quantities are correct
·Photographing completed orders prior to packing
·Packing parts securely and appropriately to protect them during transit
·Ensuring customer orders are prepared and ready for dispatch within required timescales
·Processing orders for dispatch using the company’s ERP system
·Arranging courier shipments and completing associated dispatch requirements
·Creating and closing internal system jobs relating to parts kits held in stock
·Ensuring system transactions and records are completed accurately and promptly
·Maintaining and replenishing stock within the Parts area
·Identifying and communicating stock shortages, discrepancies or location issues
·Supporting the organisation and storage of parts within the designated area
·Liaising with colleagues regarding customer orders, priorities and stock availability
·Communicating any picking issues that could affect order accuracy or dispatch times
·Working collaboratively with colleagues across Parts, Sales and Warehouse
·Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
·Following company Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
·Carrying out other reasonable duties as required
Skills:
·Previous experience within an order picking, warehouse, stores, parts or similar environment
·Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
·Ability to pick and check orders accurately
·Good organisational skills
·Basic computer skills and confidence using computer systems
·Ability to learn and use an ERP system
·Reliable and hardworking approach
·Ability to work to deadlines and manage priorities
·Good communication skills
·Ability to work effectively as part of a team
·Careful and methodical approach to handling parts and customer orders
·Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
Working Conditions:
This is a hands-on role within a busy Parts environment. The successful candidate will combine physical picking, checking and packing duties with computer-based order processing and stock management.
Accuracy is particularly important, as the role involves ensuring the correct parts are picked, checked, packed and prepared for dispatch within the required timescales.
Hours:
Monday to Friday – 6:30am to 3:30pm
Working hours are flexible and can be discussed at interview.
Pay:
£15.45 per hour
Duration:
Initially 4 weeks, with the temporary working arrangement to be reviewed after this period.
